Retaining Walls Built to Hold

Doing the Heavy Lifting

A retaining wall does real work. It holds back tons of earth, manages water, and turns a wasted, sloped yard into usable, level space. Built right, it is a structural asset that adds permanent value to the property. Built wrong, it bows, cracks, and fails. We build them to last and to look like they were always part of the property.

Whether you need a massive engineered wall to hold a hillside or a decorative gravity wall to frame a garden bed, we do not cut corners. We dig the trench, lay a solid compacted base, and backfill with clean stone and drain tile to keep the water moving away. For the big jobs, we use geogrid reinforcement to tie the wall deep into the earth behind it. We take the math and the craftsmanship seriously so you never have to worry about your wall failing.

How We Build It Right

  • Engineered vs Gravity Walls: Matching the design to the load, using pure mass for short walls and structural reinforcement for tall ones.
  • Proper Trenching: Burying the first course to lock the wall into the earth.
  • Compacted Base: Laying heavy aggregate so the wall stays perfectly level.
  • Drainage Integration: Packing aggregate backfill and placing perforated drain tile directly behind the wall to relieve hydrostatic pressure.
  • Geogrid Reinforcement: Pinning synthetic mesh between block courses and deep into the hillside to prevent bowing.
  • Tiered and Terraced Designs: Stepping the grade down gradually to create beautiful, usable planting beds on steep lots.
  • Premium Cap Stones: Gluing down a heavy finish course that defines the top line.
  • Structural and Decorative: Built to hold up a driveway or frame out a front entry with equal attention to detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cost is driven by height, length, site access, and material. We provide a firm quote after looking at the site.

Yes. Taller walls need geogrid reinforcement to tie them into the hillside, and sometimes stamped engineering plans. We build to those strict standards.

Both work well. Segmental block is cost-effective and consistent. Natural stone is a premium finish. We walk you through the tradeoffs.

We backfill with clean aggregate and install perforated drain tile behind the base of the wall to pipe water away before pressure can build up.
